Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone!
I definitely hope everyone had an amazing finish to 2021 and 2022 is off to a great start for you!!It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. Lots have been going on! Let’s start from most recent and catch up quickly shall we…

November: the platform I was using was a hot mess and not user friendly in any way! Let’s call this- new blogger pitfall learnings. I’m still working out all the kinks, so please bare with me.
December: The Russell household finally came down with Covid! I mean, almost 2 years, vaccines, booster, masked up, hand sanitizer everywhere and BAM! But, it was our time in the hunger games I guess. We’re all good! Kiddos were barely phased (thankfully!!), my husband thinks he’s a super human, although he did lose his smell for a while, and I’m all good as well. So needless to say, much like a lot of the world, the holiday plans got scratched.

After quarantine we at least got to still visit family in NC for New Year’s! Celebrated Clayton’s 40th (NY day baby) and our little niece’s 1st birthday!
January 3rd 2022: The DMV got hit with a massive snowstorm. If you follow me on IG, I documented a bit of it, but our usual 6-8 hour ride from NC turned into 2 days! A stop in a hotel in Richmond for the night to avoid a 19+ hour back up on I-95! What should’ve been a 1.5-2 hour finish turned into 7. I’ve never been so glad to be home. I love being “on the road”, but not literally stuck there in the icy situations we were in with 2 toddlers.

So it’s 2022…officially. Man, motivation is tough. Covid really threw a wrench in plans and threw me for a loop. If you know me, I can be pretty OCD and definitely a massive planner. With the new year upon us, not gonna lie- it feels like we just extended 2021! HA! I know a lot of people make resolutions- I, however, switched to yearly small goals a bit ago. I am getting back into the habit of daily personal goals. I do this for work, but I too often throw myself on the back burner.
This year, small but meaningful, is more self care! Writing it down makes it real, tangible, and attainable!! And that’s where I’m starting- with me, so everything else can fall in place with me loving me a lot more this year. Postpartum took a toll the past couple of years (blog for another time) and it’s time to turn the light back on bright! I know my mamas feel me on this. Any day is a good day to start, and this year is mine!!
